Lightning Protection

Marine and yacht lightning protection is crucial for preventing damage from lightning strikes, which can cause severe structural, electrical, and fire hazards.

More and more yacht owners are facing the negative effects of lightning strikes. While insurance typically covers the physical damage to the vessel, owners are still left dealing with wasted time, disrupted holidays, lost charter revenue, reduced yacht value, various additional expenses, and a lingering sense of vulnerability.

There is now a way to address these issues:

Introducing the DDCE!

Marine and yacht lightning protection

This patented all-in-one solution is designed to stop direct lightning strikes. The DDCE (Electromagnetic Charge Compensation Device) safeguards against atmospheric discharges and acts as an electromagnetic shield, reducing the effects of lightning on your yacht. If lightning hits the water beyond the protected zone, it's crucial to ensure adequate defenses against electromagnetic pulses (EMPs).

When it comes to onboard electronics, EMPs can pose risks comparable to those of direct lightning strikes. Dangerous EMPs can travel hundreds of meters and penetrate the vessel through conductive elements in the hull.

To shield sensitive electronics from EMPs, installing a DIN filter helps minimize high-frequency interference. Any lingering low-frequency energy is safely diverted to ground by a surge protection device (SPD).
