​Marine Electronics installers & Yacht Electricians

Marine Electronics installers & Yacht Electricians for our Lauderdale Marine Center location.

​

We are looking for 1 highly motivated, team player for our Navigation, Communication, Audio Visual installation and service department as well as 2 for our electrical and monitoring and control departements.

​

We are a well established local company that sells, services, installs, and repairs a wide range of electronics and electrical equipment on yachts.

​

Job requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Experience with complex yacht systems - programming, installation, troubleshooting

  • Marine Certified with experience OR degree in electrical or electronics and some experience in Yachts Electronics or electrical systems.

​

Further requirements include:

  • Good communication skills and the ability to implement instructions

  • Ability to learn new skills and give instructions to others.

  • Adapt to a fast paced and growing environment

  • Able to work with minimum supervision

  • Accurately read and understand technical documentation

  • Proficiency with PC applications and knowledge of networking

  • Able to work inside and outside, on docked boats or boats on land

  • Able to work overtime during busy seasons

  • Able to travel if needed

Previous experience is required, as is fluent written and spoken English.

​

Pay is commensurate with skills and experience.

Salary: $45,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year commensurate to experience.

Service Coordinator

​

The service coordinator participates in all aspects of the service department's operations. He/she is responsible for ensuring that technicians properly trained and equipped with the knowledge, resources, and tools are specifically selected to efficiently complete each service-related task.

​

Owing to the dynamic nature of the position, the service coordinator must possess a diverse skill set that lends itself strongly towards people management, time management, industry knowledge, critical thinking, and logistical practicality.

​

The service coordinator’s goal is to provide excellent customer service, within realistic and reasonable deadlines, with the help of our strong technician team and our experienced service manager.

This person must be proficient in all areas of marine service including warranty, repair, installation, service, service-writing, parts, and customer relations.

​

He or she must be a dedicated leader that is capable of becoming a recognized leader in our cohesive and animated team.

​

In the service coordinator position you will be responsible for but not limited to:

​

  • Scheduling and coordinating service work efficiently with notably selecting the proper technician and proper vendors for each job.

  • Performing inspections on vessels and creating estimates for work to be approved by vessel's ownership.

  • Managing and leading the service department, supervises and inspects ongoing jobs, and has quality checks on completed jobs prior to the vessel departing.

  • Works with technicians and the service manager on troubleshooting when needed.

  • Monitors and assures efficient completion of all current and future service jobs.

  • Coordinates subcontractors and vendors as needed.

  • Has extensive phone contact and email communications with clients to keep them well informed as to the job status and work being performed.

  • Works with service manager and bookkeeping to close out client invoices and billing.

  • Tracks time, work orders, and ensures proper billable hours and descriptions are entered by technicians at the end of each day.

  • Performs Recruiting, interviewing, and orienting of new staff members.

  • Monitoring and evaluating staff performance.

  • Continually monitors key metrics (i.e., technician efficiency and productivity) and provides constructive feedback to ownership and team to achieve department goals.

  • Performs other tasks as assigned or needed within the company.

Excellent organizational and communication skills are needed.

The service coordinator should have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in this type of position and 5+ years’ experience in the marine industry.
